According to Motorola, the devices will also be provided with the company’s VideoManager evidence management software.

Discussing the roll-out in a statement, a spokesperson said: “The nationwide rollout will help frontline teams to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, capture evidence during operations and improve safety and transparency in all interactions.

“Officers can easily upload and manage video footage, organised by time, date and location, as part of their existing daily workflows. [The solution] offers a pre-and post-recording capability to help ensure incidents are captured from the start.” 

Motorola Solutions' corporate vice president, Michael Kaae, said: “Body cameras have proven to play a crucial role in helping to improve safety at the frontline, while also serving as a valuable source of evidence in criminal cases.

“We see an increasing demand for video technology, including body cameras, in-car video and fixed video solutions to help first responders keep their communities safe.” 

Motorola also provides Austria’s TETRA-based radio network for the emergency services, which is known as Tetron.
