Radio system specialist DAMM has announced DAMM India, a joint venture with its system partner in the country, Consort Digital.

Discussing the move, a spokesperson said: “During the past 15 years of working with Consort Digital we have delivered many successful projects together, particularly within rail and energy. We believe that this new joint venture will further strengthen the foothold we have gained in the country.”

The announcement coincides with DAMM’s 40thanniversary, which took place at the beginning of July. The company was founded in 1981 by Hans Damm (pictured), who – according to a statement – “pioneered the radio communication industry by being the leading force behind the NMT mobile network.”
